Our community was created by a group of art students and graduates in Europe. Due to the lack of teaching at universities about working as a professional artist, working in galleries or other art organisations, we decided to share our knowledge and skills.
This program is designed to create positions for all creative participants to enrich their CVs and acquire new skills. We want everyone to have an equal opportunity to learn and develop and have access to knowledge.
Fundraising Assistant
As the Fundraising Assistant, you would be responsible for researching funding opportunities and available grants suitable for our community.
By developing your knowledge on the subject, you will help us prepare applications and budgets, meet the requirements and come up with creative ways of developing our community's finances.
Responsibilities:
Identification of new funding opportunities
Creating budgets
Learning how other art organisations are funded
Completion of Funding Applications to Trusts/Foundations and other organisations
Supporting and planning of fundraising initiatives
Supporting the development of membership fundraising (potentially fundraising packs and materials)
Assisting in the research of prospective Trusts, Foundations and Corporate donors
Assisting in the development and management of a fundraising database, helping update records and administrative duties as and when required
European Fundraising Assistant
One of the plans of our community is to become a non-profit organisation that would support artists in various countries of the European Union. We need a person who will help us find the appropriate funding, meet the requirements and apply. It's one of the most important roles in our community. The knowledge and experience you could get in this field is very desirable in any institution.
Responsibilities:
Researching and learning about European Funding
Creating a plan to fulfil requirements by the community
Completing applications
If required, finding the right person who could help us with the application process.
Marketing and Communications Assistant
The Marketing and Communication Assistant will work closely with the head of the community. You will help to promote our activity, advertise future collaboration, workshops, talks, Virtual Studio Programme and more. An important part of this role is to create and maintain relationships with other organisations. You will prepare materials to send out to our supporters, such as newsletters and updates.
Responsibilities:
Growing customer engagement through traditional and digital channels (Social Media + Review Platforms)
Working alongside the Head of community and Social Media team to develop and implement social media strategy & communications strategy.
Plan content for marketing functions e.g., Website, email & social media.
Assisting with events, promotions, and other marketing-related activities
Help to create compelling content for newsletters, advertising, social media, email, our website and videos
Supporting departments to create internal communications.
Recognise and recommend ideas and suitable improvements to ensure efficiency
Social Media Assistant
We are looking for a Social Media Assistant to support our Head of Community in running all elements of the brand's social media and to assist the team in building the community and increasing the awareness of our group.
Responsibilities:
Develop creative and engaging social media strategies
Manage the day-to-day handling of all social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Tiktok and YouTube, adapting content to suit different channels
Oversee, plan and deliver content across different platforms using scheduling tools
Create engaging multimedia content across multiple platforms
Undertake audience research
Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to social media posts and developing discussions
Monitor, track, analyse and report on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights
Research and evaluate the latest trends and techniques in order to find new and better ways of measuring social media activity
Analyse similar organisations' activity
Recommend improvements to increase performance

Partnerships Development Assistant
We’re looking for a Partnership Development Assistant who will act as a conduit between the We Make Art Work community and similar organisations / potential partners and will help facilitate communication in both directions.
Responsibilities:
Act as a go-to point-of-contact for similar organisations and potential partners for We Make Art Work, building relationships that last and fostering a creator's community.
Take a strategic approach to build and executing partnerships, leveraging data and insights that ladder back up to our overall Marketing goals
Communicate trends, shifts, opportunities, and statuses with the WMAW team
Use tools to improve our content performance and identify the most appropriate creators to meet our goals.
Negotiate directly with potential clients
Manage creator and business campaigns with our partners.
Inform Opportunities and Events Researcher about any raising offers
Virtual Studios Project Manager
Residencies are one of the most popular ways of staying active in the art world after graduation. They are also great for meeting more people and creating contacts, getting feedback from other artists and, in some organisations, getting paid.
This is why we are looking for a person to help us organize the Virtual Studios Residence Program, which would start next year.
Responsibilities:
Research similar mentoring programs and create a database.
Create a yearly program and budget
Find the right funding for it and help with the application process

Opportunities and Events Searcher
You will research open calls and art events for use in our Instagram and liaise with creating social media content.
At the beginning of professional development, open calls are one of the ways to build a CV. Taking part in various exhibitions and competitions allows you to build multiple connections and expand your audience. They are also a perfect motivation for creating and setting deadlines for your work. Staying up to date with the latest artistic events, allows you to broaden your knowledge of various fields of art and find new inspirations.
Responsibilities:
Research open calls and grants for various artists and creative participants.
Find job opportunities for different levels of art employment, to present on social media as employment opportunities
Research events for our art calendar. Appeal to different arts specialisms, from exhibitions, to perform plays and theatre shows.
Prepare materials for the social media team and assist with sharing gathered information through various social media platforms.
Maintain a database of resources (websites and Instagram accounts) for finding jobs, open calls, and events
Find out how to create our own open call opportunities, what we could do at that current time and what possible opportunities we could open up in future.
Learn how to write professional materials for advertising
Content Creator
The Content Creator position is perfect for those who want to develop their written and marketing expertise and learn more about their favourite artists and art movements as well as stay on top of the art world events.
Responsibilities:
Create at least one social media or blog post a week to promote emerging artists, review new exhibitions, performances, books, movies.
Research topics to form content briefs and ensure the relevancy of content
Work with Marketing on the production of regular newsletters, keeping followers informed, sharing updates, and disseminating news and content
Write, proof and edit content including blog articles, email campaigns and case study
Find interesting topics, news, exhibitions to write about and work with the Social Media team on bringing this content to our followers
Workshop Presenter
We are looking for artists who would like to develop their skills in conducting online workshops. They are a great way to earn additional money, create a closer relationship with the audience, and expand practice. Learning how to teach others your skills allows us to organise the knowledge on a given topic and mobilise for further exploration.
Responsibilities:
Research workshop structures, and what makes a successful experience, for the tutors, and for the tutees.
Find spaces, institutions or websites that could facilitate our workshop
Research what subjects are successful in workshops and with what audiences
Write about how we can appeal to audiences and present our workshops in a written way, for promotion
Learn about various ways of finding an audience for art workshops
Learn about insurance and regulations
Create a successful workshop programme

What are the requirements?
The only requirement to get a role is a willingness to get involved. We believe that everyone should have a chance equal chance to learn new skills and gain more experience.
However, because we want our community to develop, we need people who keep deadlines, come to meetings, can work independently as well as in a team and, most importantly, really want to get committed.
What are the benefit?
By working with our community you will be able to learn practical skills that will be a good starting point for developing your career as well as a valuable experience to include in your CV.
After completing three months of business, you will be still able to take part in our workshops, exhibitions and talks for free. We would be also very happy to write you references for your future job or education.
How long will the internship last?
Each internship lasts three months with the possibility of extending the contract.
Where and will the opportunities be run?
As our community focuses on providing information and learning opportunities to as many artists as possible, for now, everything will be run online. However, we hope to be able to organise exhibitions and meetings on-site in the future.
During the internship, we will use programs and websites such as Zoom, Google Drive, Miro, Canva, Planoly, Photoshop and many more.
How much time do I have to spend working for the community?
You can spend as much or as little time per week as you want, but by joining us, you agree to help in completing prioritised weekly tasks (which will be set individually).
The Opportunity Programme is about developing your skills and knowledge in order to become more employable, so the more time you spend and be active, the more you learn and benefit.
What if I can't come to the meeting or I haven't finished my task?
If you have any difficulties please inform the head of the community about it. However, if you do not perform your tasks for a long time, someone else will take over your role.
